Assistant Director of Development

SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Development will be responsible for assisting the Director with the implementation and operation of the organization’s fundraising efforts. S/he will provide fundraising support to the Museum’s endowment fund and assist with the Annual Operations Budget and the attainment of Board approved goals.

DUTIES:
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating fund-raising for the museum’s priorities.
  • Work closely with MOCA senior managers in establishing funding opportunities and priorities.
  • Coordinate and manage the relationship of the museum with Trustees, corporations, foundations and individuals from who funds are sought for various programs and projects of the units.
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits and provides stewardship of special gift donors ($5,000and more) and major gift donors ($25,000) . Develops and maintains new and existing relationships with corporations, foundations, and individuals, to produce enduring relationships that produce reciprocal benefits. * Develops fundraising strategies and methods or activities to ensure proper acknowledgement, recognition, and stewardship of donors.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of development programs and securing gifts at various levels; generates reports, and enters call reports in a timely manner to Raisers Edge.
  • Participates in the preparation of annual budget and program projects, strategic planning, and goal evaluation; monitors goal and prepares timely actions.
  • Participates in MOCA Development committee, and weekly UNF Institutional Advancement meetings;
  • Extended evening/weekend hours – networking and cultivation at each of the MOCA events throughout the year and
  • Participates in other duties as assigned by the Director of MOCA in consultation with the Asst. VP Development as they relate to a comprehensive, university-wide campaign.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience equivalent to:
Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with four (4) years of related experience. Masters: supplemented with two (2) years related experience.
