MUSIC: Dutch Sound Artist Jaap Blonk

Renowned sound artist Jaap Blonk will perform a wide range of materials related to John Cage with his trademark humor and improvisational style. His compositions and performances are examples of sound poetry, making use of words and phonetic snippets as well as clicks, hisses, and other vocal manipulations. He works as a solo performer, in collaboration with avantgarde musicians and with his own ensembles Splinks and BRAAXTAAL. Presented in collaboration with Friday Musicale and Beaches Fine Arts as part of the John Cage Festival: A 100th Birthday Celebration.
