MEMBER EVENT: Inside the Industry: Jen Jones
Thursday, October 18, 2012 • 7 p.m.
Art consultants are art design and placement experts, hired by individuals and healthcare and corporate entities to provide their professional acquisitions and collection management advice. They are also hired by galleries and visual arts organizations to provide curatorial project management. For art collectors, a consultant can guide you through the buying process from beginning to end — from selecting work that suits your taste, to negotiating the price and having the work framed, insured, shipped, and installed. For institutions art consultants are important because they integrate and articulate the desired corporate statement to the consumer and employees vis a vis the artwork utilized. While many clients are seasoned art collectors, emerging enthusiasts hire art consultants to help them develop an acquisition strategy best suited to them and maintain it over time.
Jennifer Jones is Owner and Lead Designer at Jen Jones Art Consulting, a firm specializing in creating unique aesthetic environments through art and custom framing. With more than fifteen years experience in the art industry and a BA from University of North Florida in Art History, Jennifer has owned, operated and managed art galleries, managed individual artist careers and won numerous awards including the Jacksonville Business Journal Top 40 Under 40 Award, The University of North Florida Outstanding Alumni Award recognized by the Thomas G. Carpenter Library and Best Gallery Director in the US Award at Art Expo NY.
This event is exclusive for MOCA members.
