Project Atrium: One Spark: Patrons' and Members' Reception

Wednesday, April 9 • 7:30 p.m.

Attend the Patrons’ and Members’ Reception

This Project Atrium exhibition is like no other. It started with a Mystery Artist whose identity was kept secret until a few weeks before the opening. Satellite versions of the artwork popped up around Jacksonville, taking Project Atrium outside the Museum’s walls for the first time. Jacksonville artist Shaun Thurston has entered the piece to compete in the One Spark crowdfunding festival. To top it off, Thurston will donate half the money earned from One Spark to support future MOCA artists—giving you twice as many reasons to vote for Project Atrium (One Spark project number 20196). Thurston’s work is the culmination of his 2013 One Spark project in which he pledged to complete 20 murals in a year.

Now members can see Thurston’s dramatic exhibition unveiled on the opening night of One Spark. Members will enjoy a special VIP area where they may mingle with Thurston, cast their votes, and enjoy hors d’oeuvres.
